At the annual meeting of the organisation of German edible mushrooms growers(BDC) in Leipzig it has been decided to promote sales through a publicity campaign.A website will be opened with a special design, high quality video images, various recipes and lots of information regarding mushrooms. The action has been planned for a period of 3 years from 2010 to 2012.

The campaign will be guided by Groen Media House (GMH) who will contact the media and advise the participating companies and service providers. GMH will coordinate the combined activities taking time, expenses and objectives into consideration. Quick results are expected when reactions from the public are received.

Franz Schmaus, chairman of BDC, says to be looking forward with great expectation to the results of the campaign and is pleased with the cooperation of the new service provider.

The white mushroom is without a doubt a favourite with the Germans. A quantity of between 130,000 and 135,000 is being consumed annually in Germany and that is 90% of the total mushroom selection. The brown and the organic mushroom are being developed. Popular exotics are the Oyster and the Shii-take.
